We are delighted to confirm that Tandridge District Council have agreed to write off in full the business rates debts which the Trustees inherited after our election by the village last year. The total debt was in the region of £15,000.
The Trustees wish to express their thanks in particular to Sir Nicholas White, who made our case tirelessly and effectively. Since we first began campaigning to save the Hall for All, Sir Nicholas has shown his support for the Trustees and belief in the parish he represents. Indeed, he spent much of Saturday morning with his strimmer, helping clear the grounds - which we are really happy with! We would also thank James Devonshire at TDC, who carefully considered the matter, and our longtime adviser Trevor Griffiths, who helped present the new Trustees' case.
