Frequently Asked Questions

What Would You Like To Know?

Who owns the Dormansland Memorial Hall?

The hall is owned by the beneficiaries. Anyone who lives in the parish of Dormansland is a beneficiary and have a right to say what they would like to see happen with the hall. The trustees role is to put the beneficiaries wishes into action.

I would like to be a trustee, is it too late to join?

Not too late at all - we are dedicated to providing an open and transparent service to all, and the key to this is village wide involvement. Please contact us to join in!

How do I book the hall?

The easiest way would be to through the Trustee email address: dwmhtrustees@gmail.com, if urgent, by text to 07918648404 or by post to the Hall - 3 Plough Road, Dormansland, Lingfield, RH7 6PS

I have concerns about my previous involvement with DWMH - what should I do?

We appreciate that there have been concerns raised around loans provided, in good faith, directly or indirectly to the Trustees for the Memorial Hall. We can understand why anybody who gave a loan or was a trustee at the time would be concerned. If anyone has concerns, we would be able to provide free independent legal advice around their enforceability and the prospect of recovery. Contact us to see how we can help.

What is your vision for the Hall?

We want the hall to be returned to its former glory - a central hub for the village, and future fit for years to come. We have produced a document outlining our vision, but at the heart of everything is transparency and collaboration - we want the whole village to be involved in the decisions around the hall's future.

How can I help?

Show your support by emailing us, whether you want an active role as a trustee or support team member, or whether you just want to show your support for "a hall for all!" - your messages of support are needed!
